Pictures from Sweden and Norway!

Two days ago I sent an email to most of my Swedish, Norweigan and Danish friends and asked them to go out and take a picture of how it look liked outside their window. And I got pictures!!! I have to start with telling you that it is about 10 years (I think) since southern part of Sweden had snow on Christmas!!! And Shen I say Sothern Part I mean from number 5 on the map and down…

1. UPPSALA

This first two pictures are taken by my friend Kristin Alvarsson. She studies in Uppsala and took this two pictures last night outside her window

Strega lives more out on the country than Kristin does but they have snow too…

2. VETLANDA

Madde Ohlsson sent me this pictures from outside her barn! They train their horses in the snow!!!

3. TROMSÖ (NORWAY)

Aase Jakobsen, Japps breeder sent me the most magnificant pictures from the nothern part of Norway. It is the most beautiful place you can find!

4. STOCKHOLM (Capial of Sweden)

Kerstin lives in central Stockholm and I got both picture without snow, taken a couple of weeks ago, and with snow, taken yesterday

This pictures are from Lisa who works in a suburb to Stockholm, Djursholm. This is actually the neigborhood where I grew up…

5. GOTHENBURG

Sarah lives in Partille which also is a suburb to Gothenburg. She took this picture yesterday and notice… the apples on the tree… not something usual in this time of the year!

6. GARDEMOEN

Åsa lives about 1 hour north of Oslo, the capital of Norway and this is how it look likes there today. They have very cute Santas this year!

AFGHANISTAN… on the other side of the world….

Minutes before I was going to publish this I got an email…

This is from Adam who is serving for Sweden in Afghanistan… I thought it was fun to show the weather on the other side of the world as well!

We are now expecting storms in two days… far away from snow and cold weather…

My Birthday

Don’t ask me where the last year went but here we are again… my birthday! I think this will be the most relaxed birthday in my life even thou I turn 30… Everybody sais that “life starts now” but I don’t know… if the time is not slowing down I will be in big trouble. It feels like I am just waking up before I have to go to bed again! Anything like enjoying life – not time enough for that!

My grandma, mom and I will go to Grand Prarie and Nokia Theatre tonight to see The Rockettes! I saw them like 16 years ago when I was in New York so it will be fun to see them again! We will go and have a bite to eat before we see the show. And on our way there I will try my new GPS that I got in birthdaygift :) . I really needed a new GPS, the old one was closed to be thrown out of the window almost every day!

Also Thanks to all congratulations I’ve got, both by email and Facebook! I try to answer them all! Hope I didn’t miss anyone!

We got two new christmascards… first by mail:

Moe and Geri attends the same church as mom!

And by email we recieved:

Floyd (the dog) is actually brother to Hoppsan and Geisha and he had a lot of success in the showring in 2009!!!! We are so proud of him and his owners!

Mating!!!

I am so happy!!! Co-Co and I went up to Lewisville this morning to meet Luanne and Gordon. Usually a mating takes a couple of hours but not this time. It took them less than five minutes! I am not kidding!

Usually the dogs play for a while before they even try but these two played after instead…

So abut February 21:st we hope to see some white puppies :) I will try to find a counter that counts down the days unil February 21:st!

I also got a Christmascard to show you

Pictures from the trip

I am now back home :D . Everything went really smooth all the way! It could have turned out much worse!!!

I landed Thursday afternoon and my grandmother was an hour late with the train. I had a wheelchair prepared to her when she arrived which was good because the distance to walk is pretty much, specially if you have hard time walking! We went to a nereby hotel and had dinner. Asked if they had a room and they asked us to wait for half an hour. We sat down and luckely they got a room!!!

We slept for five hours until it was time to leave for the airport. Since we flew with Businessclass the checkin went fast and because my grandma was sitting in a wheelchair we din’t have to wait in lines for the security too :) Copenhagen airport was a lot better than DFW airport regarding christmas decoration! You could feel that Christmas was on its way here!

It turned out that our flight was 1½ hour late. They said it was due to the weather but I think that was an excuse since Mr. Obama landed at just the time we were suppose to take off… Anyway… the flight in London was late too so we didn’t have any rush. When we landed in London they waited for us with a wheelchair for my grandmother. A very nice gentleman helped us thru customs and security and to the gate. I took pictures of London Heathrows decorations on my way out… it was ok…

When we came to the gate a bus was waiting for us and three other passengers. It took us out to the flight where a kind of lift took us up in the aircraft… this is pictures taken inside the lift…

We flew a brand new Boeing 777 and it was pretty amazing. Half the passengers in Business flew backwards! I was one of them. Of cours I forgt to take a picture of that… But it was soooooo nice. You could turn your seat into a bed :) I slept for a couple of hours and watched the movie Julie and Julia… It was a boring movie. After 10 hours flight, 2 hours delayed we landed in Dallas again! Of course my grandma’s luggage was still in London… it will come during the day today or tomorrow.. It was so nice to be back home.

When I was on my way out and was waiting in London I found this…

Since everone is asking me how I could name my dog after papertowel… here is the proof… it is Candy in Europe

I also got this christmascard while Iwas gone:

I will now go and pick up Billan and Question from the animalhospital and then make a call to Gordons owner Luanne and figure out when I will go up to her with Co-Co… :D

Next: Copenhagen

I got this nice card in the mail yesterday. It is from our good friends Jain and Marty Coyne :)

And this we got by email

www.dixie.nu

I will leave for Copenhagen tonight but I will be back soon… Friday actually. I will just fly Dallas – London – Copenhagen and meet up my grandmother there. Will spend the night in the airport and then fly back in the early morning the same route. So we will be landing in Dallas at 3 pm on Friday… and yes… it will be so nice to sleep in my bed when I am back! I am trying to find the charger to my small camera so I can bring that along instead of the big one. That will make it alot easier for me :) I am trying to bring as little with me as possible since I will need to carry all my grandmothers stuff… To be prepared on the long flight I have downloaded Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol to my Ipod and I will bring another book with me so I hope I will be good.

While I am gone Billan and Question will be at Van Zandt Animal Care Center. Billan will be spayed and Question neuterd and get a dental cleaning. Since we are not going to have more breeding of them I feel it’s better to get the work done once and for all. My mother (Kennel Saint Cox) will continue with breeding of English Cocker Spaniel.

Hope that I can present a lot of pictures for you from my trip on Friday or Saturday! Take Care so long!

Christmascards

Every year we get christmascards both by “snailmail” and email from all around the world. So I thought I will try to put as many as possible here on the blog to show you! Just a lesson in Swedish…

MERRY CHRISTMAS = GOD JUL

HAPPY NEW YEAR = GOTT NYTT ÅR

WISHES = ÖNSKAR

Those are the most common words you will find on the cards. I will also put their homepage underneith their card, they might be in Swedish but they often have very nice pictures :)
