Sunday morning… nothing special is going on. I have been watching World Equestrian Games from Lexington, Kentucky. Wish I was there… that would be so much fun! Was also watching golf… they all played so bad! Even I could have joined them…
The weather is a lot colder than a couple of days ago! I kind of like it but it is chilly… looking for a jacket that I can wear but it needs to be grey…
Trying to collect everything I have to do next week. I really have to push my self to get everything done. Mom is going to do the drivingtest for her Texas license tomorrow morning, then I have a bunch of phonecalls to make for the resort and at night the choir practise start again in Dallas…
I took some pictures yesterday and this morning of the dogs… muddy and clean… LOL…
Fall
Posted by C. Wichmann in Dogs, Eng. Cocker Spaniel, Great Danes, Weather on September 22, 2010
It is totaly unbelivable for me that fall starts 10:09 pm SHARP!!! Who knows that? And even more amazing is that it is right. The temprature is going down and the feeling of fall really comes. It is like someone is turning on a “fall switch”. I am actually looking forward to fall. This summer has been a little bit too hot and long for me this year. I’ve said it before that I am not allowed to complain about the heat since I choosed to move here but noone told me that it was going to be summers like this! This heat came already in end of May!!! So yes, I am looking forward to fall now
We took some pictures for Christmas yesterday… OMG…poor Shannon. She didn’t get what we wanted to do in the beginning. She thought I was angry at her. Then she figured out that I wasn’t and that this wouldn’t hurt. She was so proud of her self when we were done.
Molly wanted to be in a picture too. She did a great job as a photomodel… She really looooves attention
So now it is up to the production team to pick what pictures to choose and make the commercial. Maybe they want me to take some additional pictures… we’ll have to see.
Otherwise nothing new at all… I have been stiff in my muscles lately but today is a lot better
I have already been in Dallas once today to drop of mom and will go back later today and pick her up… other than that, just a normal day…

Today was a Dogday in Garland. Fundraiser for the Shelter in Garland. I was there with Hanna, Doris and Do-Re-Mi. Hanna did not like the water. She went in together with me but since I was in the water I couldn’t take any pictures of it… Doris accepted the water but didn’t really like it. Do-Re-Mi and Dream who also was there, they are crazy in the water!!!
My dog can apparetly get a job faster than I… Doris is promoting a tea company… handing out tea…
It was so much fun being there with the dogs. Next dog pool event is in September when Hawaiian Falls closes… Hope we can go there too.
Japp didn’t win any prize at The Terrell Tribunes photocontest
But I think he was the best dog anyway!!!
Monday again

I am getting CRAZY!!! The dalmatians have found a way to get out of the yard and I can not figure out where it is! I let them out and less than five minutes after they are in front of the house… It is Hershey, Candy, Crispy, Dumle and Shelby that are too smart for me!!!
I feel so stupid. I guess that I find where it is so I hope that I have fixed the problem but I a far away from sure about it…
This morning both Hanna and I was tired… didn’t want to wake up even thou this is an exciting day. We are waiting for fun thing in the mail that I don’t think will come until Wednesday, but you never know… I am going to ABWA tonight and will have a three minute speech about us. I hope that might bring some questions or business…
I got an inquiry last saturday of coming to a middleschool and speak about Sweden and Europe, how it is to live there and differences between Sweden and the US. That would be fun. I spoke for a company a while ago about the move and everything but it is different to speak to a middleschool… If you know anyone that would be interested in me coming speaking feel free to contact me at cilla@daimilus.com.
Do-Re-Mi is going away for “vacation” for a week today too. He will live with his sister Dream. The reason is that Dreams owner wants to try to live with two dogs. I thought this was a great idea so she will pick Do-Re-Mi up at the ABWA meeting this afternoon.
Otherwise, just waiting for fall… I had enough of summer now. They say it might come some thunderstorms but I guess it won’t hit us…
Dogshow

I have been showing dogs in Sweden for a couple of years but that does not make me good at it. It takes years and years of training to be a good handler. You maybe think that it wouldn’t be any difference showing a dog in Europe vs in US but it actually is! The biggest difference is that in Sweden you get a written paper of what the judge think of your dog, something you don’t get here so you have no clue what to improve. You don’t get any feedback in your breeding either. Here you just know that the judged liked the other dogs better than yours… But I can also see that if the judge should write comments about every dog it would take way too much time. It is more dogs attending at the shows here…
Today was mine and Shannons debute in the showring here in the US. And once again the topic of this blog really suits… A Swede lost in Texas. Sometimes I felt a bit lost today!
We left 7:30 am and headed towards Longview, TX. A bit nervous but not too bad! Could be worse. Shannon was in a great mood! She was also excited when we got there!
Mom and Shannon at the parkinglot
This was concidered a small show. ~ 950 dogs entered today.
Shannon got excited when she came in. She is like a magnet. I don’t know how many people has taken her photo today and she really likes it too! This man came back twice to get the perfect picture of her…
Shannon was entered in the Puppyclass bitches 6-9 months. She was the only one in that class. I didn’t reall care of how she was standing. Since this was her first show I wanted to give her a good first impression and that she thought it was fun!
But it went well anyway. We got a first place and his ribbon:
Then it was time for Best Puppy… Shannon was standing really good but it didn’t matter! She came 4th out of 4.
But I really don’t care, she was great in there, she was the youngest one and we have a long way ahead of us!!!
She was really tired on the way home
But happy to be home…
And then fell a sleep at the favourite couch
The whole family is happy to be home, we are tired but are already looking forward to the next show, Canton in October
The Terrell Tribune

I was notified about a photocontest that will be going on with The Terrell Tribune so I had to go and get the paper today. Talk about surprise when I saw this:
I saw the picture already on Sunday, it was taken on the photowalk on Saturday but had NO CLUE that I would find it there! I like the picture, it is a good shot! It is taken by Don C. Johnsson!
We went to Canton with Hanna and Shannon today! Hanna got carsick agin and was pretty tired. It was fun to see that Shannon gets all attention and Hanna really didn’t mind about that.
Very interesting how people thinks that Hanna is a Labrador! But they start to figure out that Shannon is too big to be a Dalmatian… Hanna was still pretty shy today
We met Cash… he is 10 weeks and also a Great Dane!!!
Shannon is always popular at Canton. She likes everybody, including kids:
Well… guess it is just to get ready for the heat that will come this weekend
Flickr?

I don’t get the point with Flickr… It is hard to organize, in my mind not very logic and then I am only allowed to upload 200 pictures without paying… eh? I don’t think so friends… I got really dissapointed yesterday… 200 pictures is what I can take in an hour easy! Yesterday turned out to be a photoday. First the photowalk and then I took all dogs out in the pastures and took pictures of them. It was about 900 pictures taken just yesterday… I guess I stick to uploading them on Facebook instead…
Look what we have on our porch…
I think that it is actually five of them but I am not really sure… Don’t want to get close since I know that the mom might abandon them if I do…
As I said I took all of my dogs plus moms Shannon and Emely with me out in the pastures for a walk. No, not at the same time, in groups… but here are some pictures of them…
Well, this is just some of the pictures… If you want to se more pictures of Dalmatians you can find them here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Terrell-Spots/139508576077086#!/album.php?aid=24336&id=139508576077086&ref=mf. Emely
Posted by C. Wichmann in Dogs, Great Danes on July 23, 2010
Right after 9 pm last night Emely got really bad. She started vometing and tried to pee but nothing came. She had a little bit fever! We had to call the vet to ask what to do until the morning. Just keep her hydrated and it was not much else to do unless she was really really bad. So we just monitored her and had to go back to Van Zandt Animal Care Clinic in the morning. More testing… bloodworks, urinalysis and X-rays… she has sand in her system that she probably got from outdoors where we have a lot of sand. But all bloodwork was good
. The urinalysis wasn’t that good so we had to add some more meds for her. We did not see anything on the on the X-ray which was a relieve… So with an increased balance on the account we came home with more meds and a dog that lost 2.4lbs since yesterday
She will have a struggle to gain it but as long as we get the system back to normal…
I planned to go to the dogpark today but since I had to replan the whole day. So when I came home I did the embroidery that was left and then a couple of hours in the tractor mowing a pasture. So now I just have the largest pasture left to do. We got more diesel when we picked Emely up so I guess I know what to do now. I hope that I can mowe all pastures and then some rain comes. That would just be awesome for me and the horses!!!
Tomorrow will be a fun day. I will be on a photowalk in Terrell. It will be hot but fun…
