Daim 6 years

This picture is 6 years ago… Daim is running around in his breeders house in Sweden… Today Daim turns 6 years old and I wonder where this time has passed! It has gone so fast! He just became a proud father for the third time. Daim was actually my first Dalmatian and he is the one that I have been around the world the most with. He came fourth at Crufts 2006 among the Junior dogs. That was an adventure I will never forget! We drove from Sweden to Birmingham, England (GBR) and entered the biggest dogshow in the world. It was just amazing!

He is just a happy amazing dog!!!

I was at ABWA meeting yesterday and it was just awesome. We had a vendortable and it was really successful. A lot of networking and some new clients. People was asking a lot of question and that was so fun! I will go into Dallas tomorrow to have some private classes and I am looking so much forward to it :D

The puppies had their dewclaws removed today. The vet thought they were really good looking and healthy! Co-Co thought it was so much fun going in the car. She just loves that!

Autions and pupps

The auction last night was fun but cold. Mom got a big cold and has been in bed all day :( We got pretty much from the auction. Stuff that we will use for the Dogresort. A computer, a printer and an officechair. Then we also got 4 bags of horsefeed for the price of 1. That was a bargin!!! Our pillows was sold for $30.00 each…

All puppies are still going just great. Eight puppies is a pretty good number. It is still manageable… (is that a word?) They are almost the same size and having four boys and four girls makes it easy. I think most of them are liver spotted (brown spots)

Prep for tomorrow

Just some pictures from the setup to the Auction tomorrow… we donated two pillows :D

Did you know that if you put shoes on a table in Sweden, it means death in family… I really hope that it is not the same here because then it might not be a fun night…

Hope that you have tickets and we will see you there tomorrow!!!! Looking forward to a fun evening!

New layout again

I am not saticefied… but it will be like this for a while now… I think…

We have decided to be on Canton next week even if we don’t get an indoor booth. We have to start somewhere and “feel the market”. So I will call them on Monday and see what opportunities there is for us to be there for the weekend! With that decision comes a lot of work. I have reorganized the cash register that we have so it says Saint Cox and not Daimilus on it and so all numbers are 0.00. I still have problem with how much cookies I need to make, I really have nooooooooooo clueeeeeeeeeee how much to estimate. But I think we should be there with the goal of getting as many contacts as possible instead of selling as many cookies as possible. But we still have to print flyers, busiesscards and other information.

Everything is almost set with the bankloan as well :) So next week starts the big work too. It is only 1,5 month left to opening so it is a lot to do! We are excited…  And we are expecting puppies before opening too , it is only 3 weeks left now so things are really moving! It will be another Dalmatian litter this time too…

We were supposed to be in Dallas today but it rained too much. It was the Swedish organization SWEA that was going to have the annual garage sale but since it rained so much it will be tomorrow instead. I don’t think we will be able to be there thou…

Well, I guess I don’t have much else to tell you folks… just another Saturday

Sick and injured dogs…

To have dogs are not always the easiest thing on earth… We went to Dog-A-Pooloza in Garland on Saturday and had a great time! Sadly our dogs cought something called Kennel Cough. It is a virus that gets into the upper resperatory system on the dogs. They get fever and they cough. More or less like a flu. You start to see the symptoms in about 4-10 days… The dogs that went to the event are vaccinated towards Kennel Cough but the vaccine does not give 100% protection and definatly not in this case.

Monday night Shelby starts to cough. It sounds like they got something down their throat. We had this virus about three years ago, in Sweden so when I heard her coughing I just knew what was going on… I just knew it but I hoped I was wrong…

Tuesday afternoon I could see on Hanna that she was not feeling well. She had dizzy eyes, tired, just not on top of her self. Later that night she also started coughing. Called the clinic and asked for an appointment in the morning.

Wednesday morning 8am… At Van Zandt Animal Care Center with Shelby. We just confirmed what we thought. Kennelcough is not fun to have since it goes around among the dogs extremly easy. In matters of a day you might have your dog, neighbors dog and a bunch of other dogs with the virus. I told Dr. Casillo that Hanna also was coughing but not in the same way that Shelby was. Shelby had a dry cough and Hanna has a lot of  mucus in her cough. Dr. Casillo wanted to have a look at Hanna too so it was just going home and change dogs… Yes, Hanna was a lot worse than Shelby. She needed stronger medication and to breathe thru a nebulizor three times a day. They had a nebulizor in Forney.
The visit at the vet took a lot longer time than I expected! I had a deadline for an embroidery at noon and it was now 11 am. Wohoo… came home and told mom that I had to go to Forney. Ok, we better hurry up, we have to go to Dallas for a boardmeeting tonight… OMG! I had totaly forgot about that boardmeeting! Did the embroidery and off to deliver it. 12:12pm it was delivered… the customer was just happy, didn’t mind me coming those minutes late *puh*. Off to Forney and pick up the Nebulazor for Hanna. There they gave me a chock! They wanted $200 in deposit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO WHAT!?! I was informed that it would cost $50 a week to rent but noone said anything about deposit. I was so upset (and still am). I looked up today what a machine cost just for fun and I found one for $99.00+shipping…  Even if I get my money back next week it was so rude!

Came home at 3pm. The day has been running so fast. In my head it was around 1pm. All the dogs had to be vaccinated before heading to Dallas. Mom helped me mix the vaccines and then it just went smoothly. First try with Hanna in the Nebulazor went actually well. It made her a bit dizzy but it was ok.  The machine makes some noise but once she was used to it didn’t bother her…

Half an hour late we went in to Dallas for the boardmeeting. Finally at 10:20 pm we were home. Then I had to organize the dogs and medicine for the night and finally I got to bed :)

This morning everything just started over again… dogs out, dogs in medicine, Hanna breath thru the Nebulizor. Then I had to head off to Dallas again. I had a one-on-one with Aaron Alaniz with Corestaff. It was such a great one-on-one :) He had so many ideas and things that I need to think more of and get more ideas of. I left Dallas with a big smile on my face :) Fimally back home it was to take in some dogs, out some dogs, medicate and fix again. This feels like a never ending story…  When I let the dalmatianpuppies out Doris was limping really bad on her left rear leg… SOMEONE HELP! Isn’t it enough with coughing dogs, does she needs to be injured too? This afternoon Jaspar, in moms house also started coughing… so I guess we will be isolated here for a while. Well not us but all the dogs!!!

If you want more information about Kennelcough you can check out www.kennelcoughindogs.com . I will update tomorrow with more information of how things are going…

Nice feeling

Sitting at my moms house, very saticefied with this day :) The day started with a Ribboncutting at Petermann. They drive all the schoolbusses for Terrell ISD. They served burgers and hotdogs! When I came I was so thursty, maybe that was showd at me because the first thing I got was a Mountain Dew. I just loooooove Mountain Dew! It was soooo great!

Went home and did the rest of the embroidery I had to do today. The machine worked so well today *happy*. Just to have that done. The best part is always to write invoices :) . On my way to Wills Point the themometer in the car just raised from 107 to…

This picture is taken right on the line between Kaufmann and Van Zandt County…

We also got a nice letter in the mail today. We have been saving weight circles with Purina, when we get dogfood, they have a print on their bags that you collect and when you have a certain amount of points you can choose from some prizes. We hav now been saving to a vetcheck of $350. Do you think it was so nice to turn it in today!!! That was a lovely feeling :)

We got some drops of rain yesterday… LOL…

But this was about all we got since the sky looked like this…

While writing this they have come up with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County but I guess we will be without the rain anyway… just because we need it so bad!

Well… time just to relax and wait for the rain…

What happened???

For weeks and weeks I have been sitting, doing nothing. Trying to find a job or something to get money out of. It has been horrible. Yesterday a customer called me and she had 15 visors and some shirts that needed to be done. The visors was kind of ASAP things. So I did them here in the morning. While I was finishing up with that another customer called and she had 20 shirts that needed to have double embroidery on them… their logo and name! This is just awesome!!! So great to have something to do! Now I know what to do tomorrow too :)

I have been walking around on small clouds today from everything that happened yesterday! To win that advertising was just amazing. It will be so much fun :) Mom and I went to a ribboncutting for Shadowridge farm today. It was a really nice place :) . Unfortunatly they don’t have a website but they host weddings and other events. A really nice farm. I was mad that I didn’t bring the camera…

Well, better get back to work, have to find a hawk to embroider…

WE WON!!!!

This is so crazy!!!

We went to a Ribboncutting with the Terrell Chamber of  Commerce today… or actually two ribboncuttings but this happened on the last one. It was Scene-Marketing who hosted a Mixer with RibbonCutting and movie! We were notified about this in the last minute and went! They do advertisingproductions that is shown before the movies at Tanger Outlet Center.  When we got there we got two lotterytickets. We never win anything but today was so much different! It is so amazing! On my ticket we won two movietickets!!! Last mom went to the movie she saw The Lionking… I went to the movie a couple of weeks ago so I can’t say that. We have decided to see Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts!

Then the amazing thing… on moms ticket we won three months FREE ADVERTISING!!!! This is so amazing for th new business!!! We just screamed. I guess that everyone that was there knew that we won!!! We still can’t believe it!!!! We did TV advertising in Sweden and know what effect that can have! We are just so happy! THANK YOU SO MUCH SCENE-MARKETING! We look so much forward to work with you!!!

Christmas now???

I like Christmas… but it is now August and we have 103 degrees outdoors. To think about Christmas is not really accurate now. Yesterday when I came to Brookhaven Country club I was met by this

Why hasn’t they taken this christmastree down???? This is really strange in my eyes… Is it because they are longing for christmas so when we come to christmas they will have a palm with a beach there???

Do-Re-Mi left for his “vacation” yesterday… we will see if he comes back on Saturday or what what happens. That dog has such a great head mentally! So cool!

The ABWA meeting went well yesterday. I had a three (and a half) minute speech about the company that went well. I had a goal for the speech and that was to make the laugh at least two times and that goal was fullfilled. I don’t know if it will give more business but at least people know more about us. Sadly it wasn’t that many people there yesterday due to vacation I guess…

I was so proud of Hanna when I came home. They were indoors a bit too much yesterday and still no accident indoors :)  She is a good girl over all. She is just 5 months…

Have you voted in the Terrell Tribunes photocontest yet? You have to get the paper to their office before noon tomorrow. I turned in our paper yesterday and the woman gave me another paper. I sat down and read it before the meeting and realized that it was Sundays paper. Awesome, so today I went back with the second vote. So both mom and I voted… So now we know that Japp at least have two votes :)

Monday again

I am getting CRAZY!!! The dalmatians have found a way to get out of the yard and I can not figure out where it is! I let them out and less than five minutes after they are in front of the house… It is Hershey, Candy, Crispy, Dumle and Shelby that are too smart for me!!! :( I feel so stupid. I guess that I find where it is so I hope that I have fixed the problem but I a far away from sure about it…

This morning both Hanna and I was tired… didn’t want to wake up even thou this is an exciting day. We are waiting for fun thing in the  mail that I don’t think will come until Wednesday, but you never know… I am going to ABWA tonight and will have a three minute speech about us. I hope that might bring some questions or business… :) I got an inquiry last saturday of coming to a middleschool and speak about Sweden and Europe, how it is to live there and differences between Sweden and the US. That would be fun. I spoke for a company a while ago about the move and everything but it is different to speak to a middleschool… If you know anyone that would be interested in me coming speaking feel free to contact me at cilla@daimilus.com.

Do-Re-Mi is going away for “vacation” for a week today too. He will live with his sister Dream. The reason is that Dreams owner wants to try to live with two dogs.  I thought this was a great idea so she will pick Do-Re-Mi up at the ABWA meeting this afternoon.

Otherwise, just waiting for fall… I had enough of summer now. They say it might come some thunderstorms but I guess it won’t hit us…
