2 years ago in Sweden

A while ago I found a harddrive with a bunch of old picture. I looked it thru and found this pictures taken 10/9/2008, about two months before we moved here. So this is how a good day can look like in southern part of Sweden. I just love the colors… something I miss with Sweden…

Pictures of dogs…

Sunday morning… nothing special is going on. I have been watching World Equestrian Games from Lexington, Kentucky. Wish I was there… that would be so much fun! Was also watching golf… they all played so bad! Even I could have joined them… ;)

The weather is a lot colder than a couple of days ago! I kind of like it but it is chilly… looking for a jacket that I can wear but it needs to be grey…

Trying to collect everything I have to do next week. I really have to push my self to get everything done. Mom is going to do the drivingtest for her Texas license tomorrow morning, then I have a bunch of phonecalls to make for the resort and at night the choir practise start again in Dallas…

I took some pictures yesterday and this morning of the dogs… muddy and clean… LOL…

New layout again

I am not saticefied… but it will be like this for a while now… I think…

We have decided to be on Canton next week even if we don’t get an indoor booth. We have to start somewhere and “feel the market”. So I will call them on Monday and see what opportunities there is for us to be there for the weekend! With that decision comes a lot of work. I have reorganized the cash register that we have so it says Saint Cox and not Daimilus on it and so all numbers are 0.00. I still have problem with how much cookies I need to make, I really have nooooooooooo clueeeeeeeeeee how much to estimate. But I think we should be there with the goal of getting as many contacts as possible instead of selling as many cookies as possible. But we still have to print flyers, busiesscards and other information.

Everything is almost set with the bankloan as well :) So next week starts the big work too. It is only 1,5 month left to opening so it is a lot to do! We are excited…  And we are expecting puppies before opening too , it is only 3 weeks left now so things are really moving! It will be another Dalmatian litter this time too…

We were supposed to be in Dallas today but it rained too much. It was the Swedish organization SWEA that was going to have the annual garage sale but since it rained so much it will be tomorrow instead. I don’t think we will be able to be there thou…

Well, I guess I don’t have much else to tell you folks… just another Saturday

Fall

It is totaly unbelivable for me that fall starts 10:09 pm SHARP!!! Who knows that? And even more amazing is that it is right. The temprature is going down and the feeling of fall really comes. It is like someone is turning on a “fall switch”. I am actually looking forward to fall. This summer has been a little bit too hot and long for me this year.  I’ve said it before that I am not allowed to complain about the heat since I choosed to move here but noone told me that it was going to be summers like this! This heat came already in end of May!!! So yes, I am looking forward to fall now :)

We took some pictures for Christmas yesterday… OMG…poor Shannon. She didn’t get what we wanted to do in the beginning. She thought I was angry at her. Then she figured out that I wasn’t and that this wouldn’t hurt. She was so proud of her self when we were done.

Molly wanted to be in a picture too. She did a great job as a photomodel… She really looooves attention

So now it is up to the production team to pick what pictures to choose and make the commercial. Maybe they want me to take some additional pictures… we’ll have to see.

Otherwise nothing new at all… I have been stiff in my muscles lately but today is a lot better :) I have already been in Dallas once today to drop of mom and will go back later today and pick her up… other than that, just a normal day…

Muddy dogs…

It came some rain yesterday afternoon…

We were out of power for 1,5 hours when the rain had passed. The great danes was outside and just loooooved the mud

I don’t know if I should laugh or cry…

But since they had so much fun, I think I prefer to laugh…

Mom and I went to Fly In today and looked at aircrafts and helicopters…

More pictures are available on my facebookpage…

We get some questions about the cookies! That is so fun! I might go back to the park tonight to hand out more cookise… if you have suggestions on events where we can promote the cookies, please tell us!

Tornado = Evacuation

We sure got some rain yesterday :) but fortunatly we didn’t get it as bad as Dallas did. But all the tornadowarnings did affect us. Since my dogs and I are living in a mobile home we have to think about evacuation when a serious tornadowarning comes. Yesterday was one of those days.  And we were not good prepared this time at all. Since we didn’t have any warnings of this kind in the spring we got a bit lost for a while but I went out to our warehouse and started to get our traveling crates… So now the livingroom in moms house is filled with:

I can tell you that organize evacuation for 17 dogs is not easy… but this was how far we needed to do it. The tornado turned west and hit Dallas instead of us. It was scary to watch TV and see the Tornado hit down town Dallas and thinking of “it could have been us”.

I got two pretty okey pictures yesterday of the trees outside our front door…

Nice feeling

Sitting at my moms house, very saticefied with this day :) The day started with a Ribboncutting at Petermann. They drive all the schoolbusses for Terrell ISD. They served burgers and hotdogs! When I came I was so thursty, maybe that was showd at me because the first thing I got was a Mountain Dew. I just loooooove Mountain Dew! It was soooo great!

Went home and did the rest of the embroidery I had to do today. The machine worked so well today *happy*. Just to have that done. The best part is always to write invoices :) . On my way to Wills Point the themometer in the car just raised from 107 to…

This picture is taken right on the line between Kaufmann and Van Zandt County…

We also got a nice letter in the mail today. We have been saving weight circles with Purina, when we get dogfood, they have a print on their bags that you collect and when you have a certain amount of points you can choose from some prizes. We hav now been saving to a vetcheck of $350. Do you think it was so nice to turn it in today!!! That was a lovely feeling :)

We got some drops of rain yesterday… LOL…

But this was about all we got since the sky looked like this…

While writing this they have come up with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County but I guess we will be without the rain anyway… just because we need it so bad!

Well… time just to relax and wait for the rain…

Victory Church

Swedes don’t attend church as we do here. Church is a boring place, that is what Swedes mostly thing. And I can agree. Compared to the services here, it is boring!!!  Mom and I was envited to Victory Church in Scurry, TX. It was Linda from Terrell Chamber of Commerce that invited us. Her son is pastor there! And we had to go. Mom has attended a church in Wills Point but it is always fun to see what other churches does since we actually don’t have any big experience from American Churches…

Victory Church

Mom & Linda

I liked Victory Chuch a lot! I think I might attend the church next Sunday too unless I have something else going on. Not sure right now…

Someone has turned on the heat again here in Terrell. We have 106F on our farm. I was supposed to go to Irving for a Dalmatian meeting but after being out for a while in this heat I just can’t stand it. And I can’t afford it anyway right now anyway…

The Yellow Gardenspider

This is two different spiders that was outside my house… I had to google it and on A&M”s page found this:

Orb-weaving spiders produce the familiar flat, ornate, circular webs usually associated with spiders. Orbweavers come in many shapes and sizes, but the brightly colored garden orbweavers, Argiope, are the largest and best-known. The yellow garden spider, Argiope aurantia, is marked with yellow, black, orange or silver. The female body is more than 1 inch long with much longer legs. It is also known as the black and yellow garden spider and sometimes the writing spider because of a thickened interwoven section in the web’s center. Male Argiope, often less than 1/4

the size of females, can sometimes be found in the same web with the female. Garden orbweavers are so named because their webs can be found in fields, on fences, around homes and in other locations. The spinybacked orbweaver, Gasteracantha cancriformis, is another distinctive orbweaver common in wooded areas. The unusual flattened, spiny body shape makes it look like a crab. Abdomen colors include white, yellow, orange or red.

Orbweavers are generally harmless but can be a nuisance when they build large webs in places inconvenient for humans.

I am not really fond of spiders so to read that they are harmless was really nice :)

Another thing that is harmless is this little friend:

The nest has been empty for a couple of days so this bird came back just because of the rain that came on friday :)

We haven’t got any more rain than that hour… we need more but I guess I will regret wanting rain later on *lol*.

Nothing has happened this weekend… just another boring weekend in waiting for… who knows…

Rain

I am happy!!! We got rain!!! Yes it is true! We got rain! Just what we needed and that is so nice. It is perfect when it comes a storm for some afternoon hours and then the sun shines… that makes the grass grow. So right now, I am not complaining of the weather.

The dogs are in over night in case of more rain… at least you can always hope that more rain will come. It is still more than welcome. I have some pictures but haven’t unloaded them at the computer yet so I will have to show you them later! But I felt since I wrote the post about never being saticefied I just have to write that I am so happy and saticefied that we actually got some rain. We had nothing destroid but we heard that it was a fire in Terrell due to the lightning and some things destroid in DFW… So thankfully we were just out of Internet for a couple of hours, but that is nothing unusual for us since we have satelite…
